Position Overview
The Compensation and Benefits Associate Director is responsible for overseeing the implementation and administration of compensation and benefits programs. This role, which is part of the HR function, develops and drives our benefits strategy and programs to develop competitive compensation packages that attract and retain top talent. This individual establishes and maintains our benefits plans that focus on health and wellness for all employees and our compensation philosophy to ensure a merit-based approach to rewarding employees based on performance, including results and behaviors.
Accountabilities, Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and administer employee health and retirement-related benefits program, which may include 401(k) plans, insurance policies such as health, prescriptions, life, and disability and leave policies, wellness and well-being programs.
- Monitor benefits related regulations and market trends to ensure that our programs are current, competitive, and in compliance with all regulatory filings and notices.
- Review and analyze benefits programs, track benefits spending, trends and developments in compensation and benefits offered by other organizations and make recommendations accordingly for management review
- Complete all necessary regulatory filings and notices, study existing and new legislation; enforce compliance, advise management on needed actions
- Maintain all benefits brokerage relationships and benefits strategies to meet and support the business needs
- Ensure benefit records are accurate and up to date in the record keeping system, including new-hires, and record changes are reflected timely
- Manages and maintains the compensation management system
- Resolve employee questions and issues by interpreting benefit policies and procedures
- Develop benefit communication materials
- Manage Benefits, Leaves, Worker’s Compensation Specialist and cross-train team members and People Leaders
- The role will manage benefits and compensation vendor relationships, open enrollment process and renewals compensation and merit processes, and delivery of benefits within internal technology and systems
- Prepares job descriptions, conducts job evaluation and salary surveys, establishes salary structures and prepares policies and procedures to achieve equitable and competitive employee compensation
- Works on special projects and other duties as assigned and contributes to a team effort for various HR and business initiatives

Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Communications, Business Administration or related field)
Experience
- 10 plus years direct experience compensation and benefits management
- Previous experience working in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment
Licenses or Certifications
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the benefits and compensation vertical within HR.
- Strong skills in the following: analysis/evaluation, benchmarking, contracting, and negotiating.
- Knowledge of ongoing and new development in industry trends (compensation and benefits)
- Strong skills in computer systems and software to manage salary surveys, benefit systems and file feeds
- Deep technical knowledge in benefits and compensation
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritize time sensitive issues
- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analysis, auditing, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Takes initiatives, is creative, works well under pressure and deadlines
